Hey everyone! As you all know, I haven’t had much time to update the site or gallery lately so I am looking for someone to help! If you are interested in helping with the gallery please email me at veronicascentral@hotmail.com. I’m looking for someone who will be dedicated and has enough time on their hands to take on the task.

THE coolest thing about growing up in Australia for us was the beautiful weather – that was a big part of our childhood.
We had a big backyard, and a big pool, so we’d always go swimming and have barbecues.
Our Dad used to play in a band, so we’d have parties and Dad’s band would be playing. Our childhood was always around music and the sun.
I think as far as Australia goes, we’re far enough away from the rest of the world that we kind of have our own cool thing going on.
I don’t think we’re all terribly influenced about what’s going on over the other side of the world.
I think it makes us unique – the artists coming out of here are a little more groundbreaking.
I think that’s why so many Aussie artists are hitting it big internationally these days.
Everyone used to say if you want to make it you’ve got to move here or there, but I think that’s a thing of the past.
We first went to LA to start writing songs five years ago. Once we signed our deal, we ended up moving to LA for a while. But we missed Australia – to stay sane, we’d fly back every few months and get our Aussie fix.
We did a lot of touring in 2009 – the States, the UK, Japan, South America, Australia. It was crazy.
I guess for us, travelling a lot, we’re always kind of waving the Australian flag around.
The Australian people, everyone really just embraces us overseas. They love Aussies.
Everyone seems to have a really good story about someone they’ve met from Australia, or their own experiences from visiting the country.
We’re always really proud when we’re travelling and we hear that kind of stuff.
We’ve always seen Australia as a land of opportunity.
Just the attitude, the general vibe – everyone’s very open here, very friendly.
Obviously it’s a really cool thing we’ve had the opportunity to travel and make music in other parts of the world, but for us, Australia was the No. 1 priority and the No. 1 place in our hearts.

Now The Veronicas join the exclusive club of celebs-with-perfume-deals, thanks to their new partnership with Estee Lauder’s Beauty Bank.

The company just hired the Aussie pop group to front their new fragrance, Rock-n-Rebel, from the beauty brand FLIRT! Cosmetics.

The girls will serve as FLIRT! “ambassadors,” which means they’ll appear on the label’s website, give makeup tips on Facebook, and judge a contest daring girls to submit photos of their ultimate rock star style.

If this sounds a bit familiar, here’s why: Last week, Victoria’s Secret announced their newest face, Taylor Momsen, who fronts the new Love Rocks perfume. And last year, Anna Sui’s perfume Rock Me chose Agyness Deyn as its ultimate punk princess.

Looks like bright young things with guitar-drenched scents are officially all the rage.

In figures released yesterday by the the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia, the Queensland twins were revealed as the most played Australian act of the past year.

Along with the sales of albums and downloads, royalties remain a crucial source of income for Australian songwriters.

The PPCA is responsible for ensuring recording artists are fairly remunerated for the use of their works in the broadcast environment.

Former Australian Idol contestant and ARIA award winner Jessica Mauboy was the second most-played act based on spins of her music videos and tracks. Idol winner Wesley Carr was seventh on the list.

The only defunct act on the list was INXS. Veteran rock acts Powderfinger and the Living End performed well, as did rising stars the Presets and Sam Sparro.

Dandenong teenager Gabriella Cilmi rounded out the list, with airplay of her debut single Sweet About Me proving lucrative.

Perth rockers Eskimo Joe and Sydney duo Sneaky Sound System also featured.

Of the international acts, Pink once again demonstrated her popularity as the No. 1 overall artist.

She was closely followed by American rockers Kings of Leon, pop dynamos Katy Perry and Lady Gaga and British soft-rockers Coldplay.

When compared with the overseas performers, the Veronicas were the ninth most played.

PPCA is a national non-profit organisation authorised to grant licences for the public playing of sound recordings or music videos.

The most played results are taken from the playlist and broadcast data collated by PPCA to distribute net licence income to licensers, artists and to the PPCA Performers Trust foundation. The group’s logo is ubiquitous at businesses that broadcast music publicly.
